Data from the National Vital Statistics System on Mortality reported that from 1999 through 2014, the age-adjusted suicide rate in the US had increased 24% from 10.5 to 13.0 per 100,000 population. The pace of greatest increase was after 2006 (CDC). Suicide is a multidimensional issue that affects many people in different ways.
