Prescription Drug Abuse

Prescription drug abuse is a growing problem in the US that has serious consequences. There are ways you can be proactive in preventing Rx Drug Abuse

1. Be conscious of where prescription drugs are located in your house and make sure you are in control of how they are accessed. Monitoring the quantities of your prescriptions may allow you to identify if someone is using them unnecessarily.
2. Talk to your family about responsible prescription drug use; this includes always taking no more than the amount prescribed by a doctor and never sharing prescriptions with others.
3. Prescription drugs should never be taken in combination with alcohol or other illegal drugs.
4. Set a good example. Use prescription drugs in a responsible manner by taking recommended amounts and refraining from sharing with others.
5. Discard unused prescriptions safely at a Prescription Drug Take Back Location.
