The Gratiot County Substance & Suicide Prevention Program strives to provide assistance to agencies, schools, and families in problem identification screening and referrals. This program is designed to identify youth at the early onset of risky behaviors. Referrals can be made for youth who are exhibiting chronic school discipline, attendance concerns, or concerning behavior at home, etc.
Screenings are free of charge. The screenings take approximately 45 minutes - one hour. Included in the screening is a risk and protective factor assessment and other assessments based upon the behavior being addressed.
Screenings are done at Gratiot Integrated Health Network by a licensed counselor. Youth and families are then referred to a program that best fits their needs.
