Nurturing Parenting Program
Nurturing Parenting is a 10 week program is designed for parents and their children aged 5 – 11 through Child Advocacy.
The Nurturing Parenting Programs are recognized by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the National Registry for Evidence-based Parenting Programs (NREPP), The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJPD) and a number of state and local agencies as proven programs for the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect.

The Nurturing Parenting class is designed to:
· Help parents and children increase their empathy.
· Teach parents nurturing ways to encourage appropriate behaviors.
· Give parents ways to build self-esteem in their children.
· Show parents and children simple ways to have fun as a family.

Nurturing Parenting classes meet over the course of 10 weeks for 2 1/2 hour sessions The Nurturing Parenting class is designed to:
Each session consists of separate lessons for both the Parents and Children, as well as Family Nurturing sessions for the whole group.
Classes are held twice throughout the year at various locations in Gratiot County. They are currently offered at no charge to program participants. Some classes offer a Family Meal time prior to the start of the session.
